Discover NEXT: Conny Janssen Danst’s adventurous pop-up project. For this year’s 2nd edition, Rotterdam-based creator Dalton Jansen is challenging seven dancers to bring urban energy to unique locations in Rotterdam.

NEXT has been Conny Janssen Danst’s newest and perhaps most adventurous project since 2024. The new initiative offers a talented choreographer an annual opportunity to create a compact production with the company’s dancers. NEXT is a performance with urban energy that appears in unexpected, diverse locations. After a successful collaboration in 2024, Conny Janssen Danst will return to the EUR campus in 2025. With seven dancers, the company will perform the brand new choreography ‘Bite the Bullet’ by Dalton Jansen.

The ambitious, young choreographer and enterprising creator has already won several awards with his inspired way of working. Dalton’s choreographies are at the intersection of hip-hop and contemporary and always highlight current social and societal themes.

After the performance, we will have a conversation with some dancers about the making of a performance, but also the daily life of a dancer. The chance to finally ask how many hours a day they rehearse, whether you have to eat before or after the performance and how, as a choreographer, you get the dancers to move exactly as you envision.
