Arts and Culture Talkshow – Where Art Worlds Meet & Greet

Host Niels van Poecke (Lecturer and PhD Candidate) and guest host Marije Ruijter (program coordinator ACW/IBACS) will start a new season of flashing conversations and performances.

The line up of the first edition is complete!

– Breaking News: Gender Inequality in Pop Music.The popular Dutch indie-pop/electro-folk band Bells of Youth will discuss the unusal phenomenon of a (rock)band consisting of only women. We will discuss this topic with dr. Pauwke Berkers (assistant professor Sociology of Arts and Culture), who organizes an academic conference at campus on the production and reception of popular music on November 6-7. Bells of Youth will also set up an acoustic show and perform some of their songs. 

– Talk of the Town: The brand new and already world famous Rotterdam Market Hall recently opened its doors. Rotterdam artists Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam will talk about how they designed the multimedia attic painting of 11.000 square meters.

– Student talk: Master CEE and ACS student Dorottya Kiss has her own dance company (de KISS moves) and was recently listed among the seven finalists of the popular Dutch television program Holland’s Got Talent. She will share here experiences with us and discuss the topic of how to be a cultural entrepreneur in financially hard times.
