International Women’s Day + Deux Jours, Une Nuit

As closure of Economics Week and to celebrate the upcoming International Women’s Day (8thof March), Laura den Dulk (Faculty of Social Sciences) holds a short lecture on Economic independence and how this effects the work-life balance and the position of women on the labour market. Dr. Laura den Dulk is an associate professor at Facullty of Social Sciences). Her main area of expertise is cross-national research regarding work-life policies (including teleworking) in organisations in different welfare state regimes.

Additionally, the film Deux Jours, Une Nuit will be screened, with Best Actress Oscar 2015 nominee Marion Cottilard. Sandra, a young Belgian mother, discovers that her workmates have opted for a significant pay bonus, in exchange for her dismissal. She has only one weekend to convince her colleagues to give up their bonuses so that she can keep her job.
