The documentary ‘Stress to Impress’ looks at the huge pressure to perform on young people in today’s society. This includes high expectations, from both themselves and others, (unhealthy) social media behaviour and the constant need to strive for perfection in every aspect of their lives.

Writer Jeroen van Baar looks at how pressure to perform is penetrating every aspect of our society. Psychiatrist and violinist Esther van Fenema talks about fear of failure and pushy parents.

Students Carolien and Elwin talk about the depression they experienced as a result of pressure to perform, and investigative journalist for the current affairs programme EenVandaag, Mariëlle Koekenbier, gives us insights into facts and figures.
